Rachel & Steven – Bird’s Eye Cove Wedding Photography on Vancouver Island

This was one of the weddings for 2019 I was looking forward to most, and it did not disappoint. Not only are Steven & Rachel a super fun couple which we discovered during their engagement session, I’ve known Rachel’s parents for a few years now and our friends Sean & Adria were coming so we knew them and a few others in attendance which ALWAYS makes photographing weddings even more fun. Add that to the stunning venue: Bird’s Eye Cove, a venue that I’ve been wanting to photograph at for a few years now and nestled in the city of Duncan on Vancouver Island, it’s a no brainer that I literally left a few days early to sail on over to the island in preparation for this wedding day.

With no surprise on the wedding day itself – Rachel and Steven took great care in planning their day, ensuring that they had enough breather room to really enjoy it and provide the best experience for everyone involved. A beautiful sunny day with a nice breeze was perfect for this outdoor ceremony and reception with photos throughout this amazing piece of property. It was the ideal place for these two laid back amazing people and of course with Rachel being a vet… we needed animals. And I tells you what – Bird’s Eye Cove is the perfect place for any farm loving people with their cute pig “Moo”, chickens and cows in the field that is beyond the ceremony site.

I’ll admittedly say that I was NERVOUS for this wedding with all the people I knew and also didn’t have my trusty husband side-kick along for the ride, but in the end I don’t know if it was just the vibe, the amazing vendors (see below), my love for the island or just the all around good mix of everything, I was super proud of the way I shot and sorry not sorry for the few favourites I’m about to share, and by few… I mean 100. :) Enjoy and leave a comment below!
