Kirsten & Mike’s Spring Wedding at Brock House in Vancouver

I met Kirsten through Aysha who got married a few years ago. Kirsten was in the wedding party and so when it came to her getting engaged I was stoked to hear from her. It’s always one of our biggest compliments to have someone who’s seen us directly in action and say “I want them too!” I didn’t get to meet Mike until their engagement session, but right away I knew they were a great match and were going to be a blast to hang out with on their wedding day.

A Brock House Spring Wedding

Kirsten & Mike were one of those people that you REALLY wanted to have a nice day for. They had one of the most rainy day engagement photo sessions I’ve had in a couple years so you’re always hoping they will have that beautiful day for their wedding day. For our own engagement and wedding photos that’s what happened, so I’ve always got my fingers crossed. Turns out, it worked our perfectly! While it was a very chilly day in April, it was a gorgeous sunny one down by the water at Brock House. We were blown around pretty good with the strong winds but their guests were all smiles for this love filled day.

After the ceremony which included some laughs, keeping Kirsten’s veil from blowing away and some tears we took advantage of those Jericho beach views and took some photos within the Brock House property and down by the beach. One thing I love about spring and fall wedding is even in the early afternoon you can get some stunning light and it’s not glaringly bright and hot on the beach. After some dancing in the light we headed back in for the reception.

Brock house like many of the similar venues is a charming old home that has been turned into a venue and very popular in the area. Although it was sunny, with the colder winds they had their reception indoors which is just as stunning with their big window lined enclosed patio. Perfect for some delicious food and a first dance.
