Bowen Island New Years Eve Wedding
April 23, 2019Wendy & Tansi’s Wedding [New West & Vancouver Photographer]
June 13, 2019I met Steph through Stacey just over 4 years ago, who is a good friend and was her day of coordinator for the wedding! I love this because Stacey had hired me after attending another wedding I photographed, and then Terynn is a friend of Stacey’s as well and hired me as well! Now that I’m friends with Stacey (Terynn too, shout out to you my friend), it’s so amazing that I get to photograph ANOTHER connection with Steph & Tyler’s wedding. These train of connections are one of my favourite things about photographing weddings – they are always a little extra fun to see your friends and familiar faces show up again and again.
Steph & Tyler were a bit different with their engagement session and I absolutely LOVED it. They took me out to Harrison Lake and beyond (towards Hick Lake) where they love going camping. It’s been their happy place since they were younger and frequently head out that way. We started at a closer beach for some fancier photos and then hopped in their truck and headed into the wilderness. While it was a bit warm and bright out, I watched them build a fire on the beach and enjoy each other’s company. I really love when people bring a huge part of who they are into their engagement sessions, it’s what they are for!
Much like many of my scheduled sessions on specific dates – rain was forecasted and we got this stunning weather instead. Whew! Enjoy some of my favourites and I’d love to know what your favourites are from this session in the comments below! Stay tuned for their wedding this fall at one of my favourite venues: American Creek Lodge … clearly the perfect choice for these two, don’t you think?
