June 23, 2016Toni & Russell’s Wedding at Estate 248 Aldergrove
July 6, 2016When I first met Jill & Kevin over a year ago at Wendell’s in Fort Langley, I had brought Farfel along for the meeting. I don’t normally bring her but since it was a place I could sit outdoors I thought why not! Plus I knew from Jill’s initial email that she was a fan of pets so knew it would be ok. Little did I know that she LOVED that I brought her and she knew that because I was such a dog person myself that it’s how she knew I was the perfect fit for their wedding day! Well and of course she liked my work. ;) In fact, just a couple weeks before their wedding she texted me to tell me they had a new puppy and was so excited to share the news, that’s my kind of girl!
After getting to know these two down at Science World last fall for their engagement session, I loved their easy going nature with a tinge of shyness that easily went away after a few jokes and some making out kissing shots. I loved that we did their engagement session out in Vancouver because it was where they had their first real date and as we went from spot to spot they told me what had happened and you could see that they really connected from day one.
Jill & Kevin got married at the beautiful Fort Langley Golf Club out on the edge of Fort Langley. I’ve been here before, in fact just a few weeks before, but with a much much different forecast. Matt and Melanie’s wedding was a warm and sunny April day while Jill & Kevin had a bit of a down pour! But, as said even during their ceremony – rain on your wedding day is a sign of prosperity! I am so glad that Jill & Kevin were the couple to be on a rainy day though as it didn’t even seem to phase them. They ended up moving their ceremony indoors and although we had originally planned to go to Derby Reach for some photos, with the steady stream of rain we headed over to Fort Langley for their bridal party and family photos.
The rainy day in Fort Langley actually ended up being amazing. I managed to try out a few near locations that I wouldn’t have been able to if it hadn’t been raining and the village was definitely a little less busy than a regular sunny Saturday would have been. We even did some photos at Wendell’s which I thought was very cool as that is where we had first met! I had said it was a full circle! Big shout-out to Wendell’s for letting me take some photos inside and out of the building.
Their wedding had so many beautiful details involving such a unique flavour to just them, from the cake to the centrepieces. Jill brought a lot of her love for horses into the table decorations and even had a dog tag of her late dog attached to her bouquet.
By the end of the night I knew that Jill & Kevin were yet another couple I’d love to call friends. Jill shares my love for animals and they both have a zest for the outdoors. Here is some of my 80+ favs from the day.
