Julie & Allan’s Wedding at Merridale Ciderworks

Two years ago Julie had inquired with me saying she had seen photos from Merridale I had done before and loved my work! I had to check the date a couple times as it was over 2 years in advance but truth be told she was planning early! I love couples who do this, it just gives more breather room (and has a higher chance I won’t be booked if you’re set on a specific place and date with me). Since they were island based and I had already moved back to the mainland, I had suggested we do an engagement shoot to get to know each other which we did in Sept 2013. As soon as I had met Julie and Allan, I instantly connected with them and we had such a good time. Even with a few mishaps including getting the days mixed up AND both me and Julie were recovering from sprained ankles, we had a fantastic session. At the end of it we had ice cream and they eagerly booked their wedding day. I guess they had felt that connection too! ;)

Fast forward almost 2 years later where I watched Julie and Allan’s life change over Facebook, we chatted often and they both closely followed my work – something that always makes me super excited to work with a couple. Finally the big day arrived and I headed over to the island to photograph their beautiful day at Merridale Cidery. Despite being a little under the weather on this warm day, I had a rocking time. Julie and Allan have so much love for each other and look pretty gosh darn good in front of that camera. I believe Julie is one of the most expressive brides I’ve ever met!
