Rachel & Steven’s Engagement Session in Lion’s Bay [Kelvin Grove Photography]
January 2, 2019Wedding & Portrait Photography Mentoring Program
January 20, 2019I met Kirsten at Aysha & Mike’s wedding a couple years ago. She was one of Aysha’s bridesmaids and while we didn’t get much of a chance to chat I knew she was easy going and a lot of fun as the whole group of them where. So when Kirsten got in contact with me last year to photograph HER wedding I was very excited! As you know we love doing weddings with familiar faces, so this is no exception!
So last week we got together to do their engagement session and we had actually pushed it back a few hours as the forecast looked a bit more promising. Turns out mother nature threw us a curveball and while the first 15 minutes of their session was fairly clear it turned into a LOT of rain. So much rain I had to take cover to protect my gear before it malfunctioned and we have shot in some serious rain before. Only a few select times have I actually been concerned and this was one of them – not too much though. ;) After we hid under the trees we dared out into the storm, these two were one of the best couples that we could have had a rainstorm happen to – easy going and just full of giggles. Luckily we had a moment near the end of the session to catch a few more non-drippy shots. Check out this session and only about 3/4 of the way down will you see HOW rainy it got!! Then stay tuned for their April wedding at Brock House!
