Rachel & Steven’s Engagement Session in Lion’s Bay [Kelvin Grove Photography]

I have known Rachel’s parents for a few years now through a past networking group I used to be a part of – and now have many friends from! When I photographed Sean & Adria’s wedding – who are a part of that circle – Rachel was there with her parents so got to see us in action!

Fast forward to Rachel getting engaged back in the summer and I was talking to her mom about it at another wedding we had attended as guests. Rachel had remembered us from S&A’s wedding as well as doing some headshots for both her mom and sister so got in touch with me to photographer her wedding this upcoming year at Bird’s Eye Cove! A gorgeous venue and the perfect excuse to go photograph on the island.

While we had briefly met, I was very excited to go out to Kelvin Grove in Lions Bay (at the beginning of the Sea to Sky Highway) and get to know Rachel and her fiancé Steven in detail. Since this was a late December engagement session we completely lucked out and had a day with NO rain and wasn’t even too cold!

This session was exactly the type of session we love to shoot – full of laughter and infused in nature and the second engagement session both Ryan and I photographed! While we don’t do all engagement sessions together, there will be more in the upcoming years that we do together, especially since most weddings have both of us!
