Wedding Anniversary Photo Session at Moraine Lake

When I visited Moraine Lake a few years ago on a trip with my mom, I KNEW I would be back one day and photograph a couple there as well. I love the mountains, and the forest, and the water…. so basically Moraine Lake all in one neat little package nestled incredibly close to Lake Louise which is one of the more amazing spiritually connected places near us.

Since I headed to Calgary a couple weeks ago to photograph Brent & Cheryl’s wedding (which I can’t wait to share later), I had talked to previous clients Claire & Justin who got married at Merridale Ciderworks 5 years ago about doing an anniversary session. When I threw out the idea of Moraine Lake in Banff they were all for it! I love how the first half of this session looks like they could be an elopement, perfect way to celebrate their 5 years as a married couple.

Since I drove from Osoyoos to Lake Louise in the same day before this session we just managed to get there with a bit of sun left. We bolted up the rock hill for those beautiful blue green lake shots, and in part one of this session below you will see some of my favourites… it was so hard to pick.
