S&L’s Harrison Hot Springs Resort Wedding Photos
September 16, 2023There’s a funny thing about photographers that we get all excited about where we shoot. Second to the couple (and maybe some really sexy lighting), it really makes our artistic cups overflow and brings us back to our creativity.
So when Sarah came to me and said, our wedding is at Swan-E-Set out in Pitt Meadows, I replied with “ohhh so a fairytale vibe” – yess!! One of the reasons I am moving to Colwood (outside Victoria) is because it’s minutes away from my FAVOURITE localish castle – Hatley Castle and I cannot wait to shoot there more. Like this wedding from a few years ago. Okay, maybe not a huge reason but it will definitely be one of my go to spots again. Because, like Swan-e-set, it just has all the magical vibes.
Now Sarah & Gerardo already had the awesome people boxed checked because I actually had played baseball with Gerardo and photographed a couple of our teammates weddings already. Remember this one on that smokey August day in 2016? Well, Andy was Gerardo’s best man!
On the actual wedding day, which was in February, we did have quite a bit of rain. I mean, it was to be expected at that time of year and with an indoor venue that is a showstopper – there was nothing wrong with that. In fact, you’ll see that that rain gave us ALL the vibes with an outdoor magic shot, so we forgave Mother Nature that day. A few clear umbrellas give a little whimsical appeal and you better believe that gorgeous driveway was all ours.
Enough from me, check out this day.
Speaking of castles, if you want to get married on the island at Hatley Castle – I’ll be living just a few minutes away starting in mid 2025 (or maybe I’m there already by the time you read this)… So I have special Castle Day rates. *insert grinning emoji here*. Get in touch and let me know.
